Why City St George's?

Dynamic location, global outlook, responsible future

We are proud of our London location, our heritage and links with business.

  • The Lord Mayor of London is our Rector and this connection is often celebrated in our events and ceremonies including the annual Lord Mayor’s Show.
  • Professional bodies and organisations help develop our courses and facilities, offering excellent opportunities for work experience, enhancing the career prospects of our graduates.
  • Our outlook is global: around half our students come from outside the UK and our research has worldwide impact, while our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility runs through everything we do.

Rankings, research and alumni

  • We are highly ranked both for our student employability and the impact of our research.
  • Our research spans a wide range of important subjects including identifying heart conditions in athletes, prevention of food allergies in infancy, expert leadership and economic policies against human smuggling.
  • We have 175,000 alumni worldwide, in over 170 countries, including medical pioneers John Hunter, Edward Jenner, Henry Gray, and Patrick Steptoe, and prominent figures particularly throughout media, business and politics such as Tony Blair, Stelios Haji-Ioannou, David Lammy, Samira Ahmed and Sophie Raworth.

City St George’s, ×ãÇòtips educates more than 27,000 students from over 170 countries across three campuses in Clerkenwell, Moorgate and Tooting. The University is now one of the largest higher education destinations for London students and one of the most significant suppliers of the health workforce in the capital.

By combining legacy St George’s world-leading specialism in health and medicine with legacy City’s excellence in a breadth of disciplines including health, business, law, communications, policy and global affairs and science and technology, our merger has created opportunities to generate significant change in the world of healthcare through interdisciplinary working. This includes changes to treatment, population health monitoring, workforce development and leadership, policy, and advocacy.
